This is one devious plan
This is one devious plan

If you are anything like me, you don't want to have anything to do with schools already, on account of the already-creeping church influence there (in the form of believers teaching) and for the total detachment of the entire system from real life. I have to publicly thank mother nature that I have my last kid in high school right now: only two years and a bit to go. Hurrah!

Let's assume that Trump will get two full terms. That is 8 years of running the Education Department under some super-Christian public school hater like e.g. Betsy DeVos. Someone who doesn't like separation of church and state. Imagine your local school (already strapped for cash due to consistent public education funding cuts over the last half century) starts complying with this shit.

Now let's assume you have kids just starting school. By the time they will be in high school, there is a chance the schools won’t be as bad as they are now: perhaps they will be much worse. Then maybe the voucher system will not sound so bad to you. And that is the aim of this all - the complete privatization of education. It is a lose-lose situation.

The most devious part is that fewer people care, because by the time they can effect change, their kids are long since done with school.

Perhaps in addition to thanking mother nature, I want to thank the mother of my children for hauling them out of that failing system.
